Protected area management in times of global change
In honor of the late Dr. Hans Bibelriether, long-time director of the Bavarian Forest National Park, the park administration is organizing an international conference from 12. – 14.11.2026 in the Hans-Eisemann Haus in Neuschönau on the topic:
Protected area management in times of global change
The Bavarian Forest National Park is thus continuing its tradition of targeted international conferences. We have invited four key notes from the field of protected area management to present their views as managers:
All types of research contributions related to protected areas are welcome. Please submit your abstract for an oral presentation or a poster. Presentation slots will be 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for discussion.
Conference registration is mandatory for all oral and poster presenters, as well as for participants without their own contributions.
Please register online by 30 September 2026 at the latest and pay the conference fee by 14 October 2026 at the latest. The number of participants is limited to 200. Places will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received.
Accommodation note: We have reserved rooms for our guests in four hotels. All rooms can be booked until 23 August 2026. You get a list of these hotels after registration.
Conference Fee
The registration fee is net price (€ 120.00) exempt from Value Added Tax.
The conference fee include:
- your name badge
- all coffee breaks during the conference
- Dinner/Lunch during conference
- Evening walk on the treetop path
Payment/Invoicing
The fee is net price excluding VAT and payment is made on the basis of the formal invoice (in accordance with § 14 Abs. 4 Umsatzsteuergesetz), which you will receive by email within 5 working days. A payment confirmation (excluding VAT) for the fee paid will be handed out to all participants on site at the conference office.
Cancellation and refund
All requests for cancellations and refunds must be received in writing by 30 September 2026 at the latest. If you have already paid your conference fee at the time of cancellation, we will contact you by e-mail regarding the refund of the fee. A processing fee of € 30.00 will be retained with the refund. All cancellations after 30 September 2026 are non-refundable.
