On the way with children
Hiking in the Bavarian Forest National Park, with its varied hiking trails, the wild woodlands and pristine streams, is fun for children too. Detecting animal tracks, balancing over lying tree trunks, watching birds and beetles, or discovering the many nuances of green within the forest - the special atmosphere in the forest enchants every child. You can find some proposals of family-friendly hikes in our Tour Tips section.
Furthermore, we have some visitor facilities, which are specialized in the needs of families. Primarily, these are Lusen National Park Centre and Falkenstein National Park Centre with their animal enclosures. In addition, both the Hans-Eisenmann-Haus and the Haus zur Wildnis offer their own concepts for children, which guarantee those young visitors an exciting visit to the exhibitions.
Things get exciting at the forest playground Spiegelau, where families can spend the whole day due to Nature Discovery Trail, play areas and Forest Meadow. There are also playgrounds at some other locations in the national park.
The interests of children and families are also taken into account at the offer of our guided tours. Thus, there are regularly events that are tailored to the little nature fans in our calendar – especially during the holiday period.
