When beetles meet fungi!

June 2018, Forest History Museum St. Oswald, Bavarian Forest National Park

We like to invite you to the 10th edition of the symposium on the conservation of saproxylic beetles which will be organized in St. Oswald, Germany on the 8 to 10 June 2018.

The meeting will be held in the Forest History Museum of the Bavarian Forest National Park, located in the Center of St. Oswald. Sessions will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Excursions will happen in the afternoon.

The goal of this symposium is to present the state of the art on research concerning the ecology, conservation and management of saproxylic organisms, alongside with research dealing with transversal approaches related to their biodiversity, distribution, taxonomy, phylogeography and environmental issues.

Moreover we aim to develop a stronger cooperation between researchers working on wood-inhabiting fungi and those working on saproxylic beetles. The Nationalpark with dead wood at the limit and many projects on both groups seems promising for such a meeting.

We are looking forward to seeing you in St. Oswald in June 2018

The organizing committee

With kind regards
Prof. Dr. Jörg Müller
